Bradenton, FL— 10/11/2019 — On September 24th, Dr. Elizabeth Callahan and her team at Skinsmart Dermatology hosted a fundraiser at their office to benefit Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue and the dogs rescued from the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. A long-time animal lover and community leader, Dr. Callahan knew right away she needed to help. The Puppies and Prosecco Dysport and Jeuveau party was such a hit with clients who wanted to help, additional dates had to be added. Foster puppies from Nate’s mingled with the guests while shelter staff and volunteers shared information about the extensive medical care the Bahamas dogs were receiving. Dr. Callahan and her staff all donated their time and services for the event, and local representatives from Galderma and Evolus donated the products for the event. The event raised $12,477 and the Skinsmart team visited the shelter and the Bahamas dogs on October 10th to deliver the funds in person.
“The entire event was planned over a two-week period. I wanted to use my skills to raise money in the shortest and most effective way possible in order to help the dogs from the Bahamas.”
“We are overwhelmed by the response from Dr. Callahan and the community. Support from our Corporate Paw Partners like Skinsmart Dermatology makes it possible for us to help the animals that we do. These dogs needed more medical care than most, but I am happy to say they are doing well and available for adoption now” said Rob Oglesby, Development Director at Nate’s.
On 9/16/2019, Nate’s took part in a statewide coordinated effort to transfer 150 dogs and cats from the Bahamas Humane Society after Hurricane Dorian. Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 registered with the state (CH35957). Nate’s relies 100% on donations to achieve its mission to save the lives of homeless pets by changing the way our community views animal sheltering and shelter pets. To provide an educational and family friendly environment that will change their future one animal, one family, and one generation at a time.
